Born in Brussels, Belgium in 1845, painter Albert Roosenboom studied under renowned artist Constantin Emile Meunier. Under Meunier's tuteluge, Roosenboom became one of the finest Belgian painters of genre scenes, skillfully depicting daily life of the Brussels bourgeoisie during the late 19th century.

Roosenboom exhibited at Salons in Brussels, Ghent and London from 1869 to 1875. Roosenboom's work is held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Courtrai Museum.
