Roger Worms
French (1907-1980)
Painter Roger Worms was born in Epernay, France in 1907. He received his artistic training at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, where he became a professors later in life. Worms was active in the art community and earned membership in numerous art organizations, including the Salon des Tuileries, the Salon d’Automne and the Salon des Independants. Worms was also the founder of the Salon called “Le Sport et les Artistes.” Worms also exhibited his works in the Artist Exposition at the Petit Palais in 1936.
An admirer of Manet and the Impressionists, Worms expressed himself through his art. Well-known for his landscapes and still life paintings, Worms also painted several murals at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation as well as executing numerous vases for the Sevres porcelain manufacturers.
