Samuel A. Weiss

American (1874-1918)

A landscape painter, Samuel A. Weiss was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1874 and immigrated to the United States in 1886. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City under Henry Mosler (American, 1841-1920). In 1906 and 1907 Weiss participated in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts annual exhibition. In 1917 he exhibited at the Society of Independent Artists, which was an association of American artists based in New York.
