Rudolph A. Voelcker
American (1873-1962)
An American Impressionist, Voelcker utilized broken brushstrokes and a warm and cool color palette to capture a sense of dappled sunlight falling on the warm grasses and the cows. The blues and purples give a feeling of coolness and depth in the shadows and background. Voelcker was best known for his depiction of rural American life whether it be field workers in a landscape, fishing villages or a bucolic landscape.
