Don Stone

American (1929-2015)

Don Stone began studying art at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts and continued his studies at Vesper George School of Art in Boston. He also studied privately with Paul Strisik, who introduced him to the life of a plein-air painter. Stone was a member of the National Academy of Design, the American Watercolor Society, the Hudson Valley Art Association, the Rockport Art Association and others. He had many one-man exhibitions and his works are in several museums and prominent private collections. Stone split his time between his homes on Monhegan Island, Maine and Exeter, New Hampshire.
