Dorothea Stefula
German (1914-1997)
Dorothea Stefula was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1914 and studied at the art academy in Hamburg. Stefula illustrated numerous children’s books, designed postage stamps, painted frescos on public buildings, was a graphic designer, as well as created scenery and costumes for the Bavarian National Opera in Munich. In 1964 she won the gold medal at the Premio Internationale per le Pittrici.
