Phoebe Colvin Oehmig

American

Phoebe Colvin Oehmig was born in Brunswick, Maine, in 1996. She showed an interest and ability in art at a young age, painting under the tutelage of her father, artist Keith Oehmig. Her gifts and talents in the arts have earned her various prizes and awards, including honorable mention in School Arts Magazine for a miniature floral painting. She has studied portraiture with Maine artist Christopher Cart and studied in Florence, Italy, with contemporary painters Lindsay Mapes and William Binnie.  While in Florence, Phoebe studied drawing and oil painting on site at the Uffizi, Boboli Gardens and the Loggia dei Lanzi.  She is currently studying at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont.

Phoebe is strongly influenced by her environment.  Her formative years of plein air painting on Monhegan Island and the Maine coast pervade the rhythm and energy of her work. Her paintings are in several notable private collections in the United States.
