Frank C. Herbst
American (1890-1966)
Frank C. Herbst was born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1890. At age nineteen, Herbst found employment as a silver designer, demonstrating an early aptitude for art and drawing. Herbst also painted landscape and cityscape paintings in an Impressionistic style. The artist maintained a studio in Newark and was a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York City and a member of the Musician’s Union of New York and New Jersey. His work can be found in the Brandywine River Museum of Art.
