Theodore Gericault Fort

French (1810-1896)

Théodore Géricault Fort was born in 1810 in France and was the son of French court painter Jean-Antoine-Simeon Fort (1793-1861).  The younger Fort debuted at the Paris Salon in 1842.  His specialty was equestrian paintings depicting action-packed military scenes or more pastoral farm subjects.  Fort is represented in the Musee de Louviers, Louviers, France and Musee Beaux-Arts de Mulhouse, Mulhouse, France.
