Frederic Charles Vipond Ede
American (1865-1943)
Frederic Charles Vipond Ede was born in 1865 in Nottawa in Ontario, Canada. He began his studies in America before traveling to Paris, where he studied at the Académie Julian under Tony Robert-Fleury and William-Adolphe Bouguereau. A landscape Ede exhibited in Montreal in 1891 won a first prize. He also exhibited in the World’s Fair in Chicago in 1893 and later, received a medal from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
