Frank Wasley
British (1854-1934)
Born in Peckham, England in 1854, Frank Wasley was well-known as a landscape and marine painter. Active from 1880 until 1914, Wasley painted throughout Europe, capturing the British landscape as well as the Venetian canals. Working in both watercolor and oils, Wasley painted in a free, impressionistic style. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute, and the Royal Society of Scottish Artists. His work is represented in the Maritime Museum, Greenwich, Whitby, and the Sunderland Museum & Gardens.
