Artist and writer Alexander Garfield Tupper was born in Gloucester, MA in 1885. His artistic studies were with John H. Twachtman and Frank Duveneck. Tupper was a member of the North Shore Art Association, the Gloucester Society of Artists and the National Arts Club.
