Rene Seyssaud
French (1867-1952)
Born in Marseilles, France in 1867, painter René Seyssaud studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille and later under the tutelage of French painter Pierre Grivolas in Avignon. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, Salon d’Automne and Salon des Tuileries in Paris. A major retrospective in 2012 paid tribute to Seyssaud, where more than eighty of his works were on display at the Palais des Arts – Cours Julien.
Seyssaud’s works are held in the permanent collections of the Musée d’Orsay, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Dijon and Musée d’Art de Toulon.
