Henry Schouten
Belgian (1859-1927)
Henry Schouten was a Belgian artist best known for painting farmyard scenes of animals in their environment. Born in 1864 in Indonesia, Schouten went on to study art at the Academy of Brussels from 1876 to 1881. His works were strongly influenced by Alfred Jacques Verwee (Belgian, 1838-1895), a renowned fellow animal painter.
