Evert Pieters
Dutch (1856-1932)
Born in Amsterdam in 1856, Dutch school artist Evert Pieters studied at the Academy of Amsterdam and Antwerp Academy of Fine Art under painters Theodoor Verstraete and Charles Verlat. A skilled painter, draftsman and engraver, Pieters exhibited in cities throughout Europe including in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Francais and Scotland at the Royal Scottish Academy, and was awarded medals at exhibitions in St. Louis, Paris and Barcelona. He was a member of the Pulchri Studio at The Hague, Academy of Antwerp and Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam.
Pieters’ work is held in the collections of museums in Antwerp, Barcelona, Den Haag and Toledo, as well as in the F. Halsmuseum, Singer Museum, Rijksmuseum van Bilderbeek Lamaison and Goois Museum in the Netherlands.
