Robert Philipp
American (1895 - 1981)
Born in 1895 in New York City, prominent American painter and printmaker Robert Philipp studied at the Art Students League under George Bridgeman and Frank DuMond and at the National Academy of Design under Douglas Volk and George Willoughby Maynard. Philipp taught at the National Academy, High Museum of Art, University of Illinois and Art Students League.
Philipp was a member of the Lotus Club, National Academy of Design, American Watercolor Society and Royal Society of Arts. His works are held in the collections of the Corcoran Gallery, Washington, D.C., High Museum, Georgia, Dallas Museum, Texas, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
