Frank Myrick
American (1840-1914)
A Boston area artist, Myrick was a painter and illustrator. A member of the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters and the Boston Art Club, Myrick exhibited throughout this career at the Boston Art Club, displaying paintings such as “Fisherman’s Home, Monhegan,” “A Bit of Marsh, Monhegan,” and “Spruces, Monhegan.” Sent to Monhegan in 1897 by The New England Magazine to illustrate an article about the island, Myrick, like many of his contemporaries, became enamored with the beauty and ruggedness of the island.
