Leon Londot
Belgian (1878-1953)
Leon Londot was born in Mons, Belgium in 1878. He worked in various artistic media including watercolors, gouache, and mixed media, in addition to doing many drawings. However, Londot is best known for his oil paintings. His works include both still lifes and landscapes. In his still lifes, he most often focused on floral arrangements while his landscapes are usually coastal views. His marine landscapes frequently include boats along the shore or at port and large ships at sea, bustling with passengers. LondotÃÂs works can be found in the United States and abroad, including in Belgium and Britain. Londot died in the town where he was born, Mons, in 1953.
