Hans Larsson

Born in The Gambia, West Africa in 1976, artist Hans Larsson has lived in Sweden since 1979. Larsson has won numerous awards for his paintings including Bird Painter of the Year in 1995 from The Swedish Ornithological Society. Larsson has participated in more than 40 solo exhibitions and group shows throughout Sweden and his paintings are included in five publications including “Terns of Europe & North America,” “Gulls of Europe, Asia & North America,” and Birds in Bahrain.”
Larsson’s passion for birds and painting began in kindergarten and grew when he joined a local Youth Wildlife and Nature Club in Sweden. Larsson’s paintings beautifully capture the subtleties of shape and plumage of his subject. His obsession is to experience the magic of bird migration, especially on remote islands.
