Jean Pierre Lagrue
French (b. 1939)
Born in Paris, France in 1939, artist Jean Pierre Lagrue studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and under artist Raymond Legueult and sculptor Hubert Yencesse. A accomplished dancer, Lagrue danced in the ballet companies of Roland Petit, Marquis de Cuevas, Ludmilla Tchérina, Jeanine Charrat and Jean Christophe Averty and performed ballets on television for twenty-nine years. Upon leaving the theater, Lagrue turned his talents to the canvas and pursued painting full-time. His first exhibition took place in the Paris Salons in 1973.
