Henry James John Kinnaird
British (fl. 1881-1920)
Henry James John Kinnaird was a well-known artist in his day, working in both oil paints and watercolors. He lived for a time in the fashionable Camden Town area of London before moving to Ringmer, near Sussex. Kinnaird painted landscapes and rural scenes, and his style is noted for recalling the works of John Hooper, a prolific landscape painter. During the late 19th century, he exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists, both in London. Today KinnairdÃÂs works can be found in international art galleries and private collections. For instance, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville owns his painting, ìSunny Cornfield.î Kinnaird continued to paint landscapes and genre scenes until his death in 1920.
