Lizabeth Clifton Hunter
American (1868-1948)
A watercolorist, Hunter was born in Gilroy, California in 1868. She studied with H.B. Snell, an American Impressionist painter of the New Hope, PA School. Later in her life, Hunter lived in New York City and Connecticut, and was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, the New York Watercolor Society and the Boston Watercolor Club. HunterÃs works were part of exhibitions at the Boston Arts Club from 1898-1906, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in 1903, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Society of Independent Artists in 1917.
