Katherine Allmond Hulbert
American (1859-1939)
Born in California’s Sacramento Valley in 1859, artist Katherine Allmond Hulbert studied at the School of Design in San Francisco, National Academy of Design and with John Ward Stimson. Hulbert maintained a studio in Sacramento in the 1880’s, and later in South Egremont, Massachusetts.
Hulbert was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, Brooklyn Painters and Sculptors, Pittsfield Art League, Boston Art Club and Society of Independent Artists. She exhibited her work at the National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Art Institute of Chicago, Boston Art Club and Society of Independent Artists. Hulbert’s work is held in permanent collections of the Syracuse Museum of Fine Art and the Library in Brooklyn, New York.
