John Bradley Hudson
American (1832-1903)
John Bradley Hudson (1832-1903) was a native of Portland, Maine and a prolific landscape and ornamental painter. He studied under Charles C. Cole, and quickly became an active member of the Portland art community, befriending renowned Brushian C. F. Kimball. His watercolors were exhibited at the Boston Anthenaeum (1868) and the Boston Art Club (1880-81, 1898), as well as at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1881). Today, his works can be found at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and at Colby College in Waterville, ME.
