Joseph Mellor Hanson

Painter Joseph Mellor Hanson (American, 1900-1961) was an active member of the New York City artistic community. He exhibited throughout the northeastern United States during the 1940s and 1950s. Most notably his works were displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1945, the Whitney Museum of American Art from 1950 to 1951, and at the Corcoran Gallery in 1959. HansonÃÂs paintings have been sold in the United States as well as throughout Europe. His works can be found in public and private collections on both sides of the Atlantic, including that of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales.
