Hendrik Glintenkamp
American (1887-1946)
Born in 1887 in Augusta, New Jersey, painter, printmaker, illustrator and sculptor Hendrik Glintenkamp studied at the National Academy of Design and with Robert Henri and John Sloan at the Art Students League in New York City.
Glintenkamp’s work was included in the Exhibition of Independent Artists in 1910, at the 1913 Armory Show and in exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago, Whitney Museum of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
Glintenkamp’s work is held in collections worldwide including in the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Baltimore Museum of Art, Biro-Bijan Museum, USSR, New York University and in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
