Francois Gall

French (1912-1987)

Born to Hungarian parents in 1912, Gall studies were at the Academy Royale des Beaux-Arts in Rome. Gall moved to Paris in 1936, and was a student at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Gall exhibited extensively at the Salon des Artistes Francais, where he obtained many awards for his works, as well as at private galleries throughout Paris, London and New York. Gall became a French citizen in 1945, and was well-received as an artist in his new country. He was awarded the Francis Smith prize in 1963.
