John Gable
American (b. 1944)
Born in Kentucky in 1944, Gable studied at the University of Kentucky and the Arts Center College of Design in Los Angeles, CA. Gable was an automobile designer in the 1970s for General Motors, where he developed an appreciation for light, and a desire to create his own art. In 1979, Gable moved to Kennebunkport, Maine to pursue art. Gable has exhibited his works throughout New England and has done many celebrated commissions, including several commemorative paintings for the America’s Cup. Gable currently resides in Woolwich, Maine.
