Alfred Fuller

American (1899 - 1980)

Born in Deerfield, Massachusetts in 1899, Fuller became a well-recognized painter, lithographer and teacher. Fuller began his artistic studies at Amherst College, and became a member of the Laguana Beach Art Association, the La Jolla Art Association, the Salmagundi Club and the Allied Artists of America. His works were exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the American Watercolor Society, annually at the Washington Watercolor Club and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts as well as at several prestigious galleries throughout the country.

Although Fuller was an engineer in profession, he made time to paint and hone his craft. For many years, Fuller spent his summers on Monhegan Island, like many artists of the time, painting the rugged island scenery in his land and seascapes. He was also active as an art instructor on the island.
