John Joseph Enneking

American (1841-1911)

Enneking was born in 1841 in Minster, Ohio. Enneking studied drawing at Mount St. Mary’s College in Chicago, and later with Leon Bonnat and Charles Francois Daubigny in France. In 1864, Enneking and his wife purchased property in Hye Park, Massachusetts, where he set up his studio and began painting. Enneking held membership at the Boston Art Club, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts and the Salmagundi Club. His works are part of the collections of the Boston Museum of Art and the Worcester Art Museum, Massachusetts.
