Daphne French Dunbar

American (1883-1959)

Born in Port Colban, Canada, in 1883, Dunbar was a lithographer, designer, painter, and teacher.  She studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and in Paris.  Dunbar exhibited with the Society of Independent Artists in 1918 and the Salons of America in 1922.  Her work is in the collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, and the Los Angeles Museum of Art.
