Richard Creifelds
American (1853-1939)
New York native Richard Creifelds (1853-1939) began his artistic career at the National Academy of Design and also studied at the National Academy in Munich, Germany, a stint that greatly influenced his later style. Creifelds exhibited extensively throughout the latter decades of the nineteenth century, contributing works to the shows of the Brooklyn Art Association, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Currently, many of Creifeldsà portraits and other works are part of public collections in New York City, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
