Rudolph Colao
American (1924-2014)
Born in Peekskill, New York in 1927, floral and still life painter Rudolph Colao studied at the Art Students League in New York under Frank Vincent DuMond. Following stints in New York, New Hampshire and travels to the Southwest and Europe, he moved to Rockport, Massachusetts where he established a studio and became an integral part of the community’s thriving art scene. Colao was a member of the Allied Artists of America, Hudson Valley Art Association, Rockport Art Association, Artists Equity Association and Knickerbocker Artists. He taught at the Art Students League in New York City and at the Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona.
Colao exhibited at the National Arts Club, Salmagundi Club, American Artists Professional League, Hudson Valley Art Association, Rockport Art Association, Guild of Boston Artists, Allied Artists of America, Knickerbocker Artists and Southern Vermont Artists Association.
