Vincent Clare
British (1855-1930)
A well-known member of the Clare family of painters, Vincent Clare was the son of George Clare and brother of Oliver. All three painted in oils, depicting flowers and fruit often set against a mossy bank or other natural looking backgrounds. The Clare family lived and worked in Birmingham and it is presumed he trained under his father. Vincent’s works were exhibited from 1888 through 1897, including at the Walker Art Gallery.
