John Chetcuti

American (1900-1976)

John Chetcuti was born on the Mediterranean Island of Malta. However, he spent a great deal of his artistic career painting in Rockport, Massachusetts, an area known for its renowned artist colony. Chetcuti was a watercolor specialist with a focus on genre scenes that depicted both coastal life and street scenes.  Throughout his career he exhibited frequently in Rockport, and was a member of the American Watercolor Society, Audubon Artists, Rockport Art Association, and the North Shore Arts Association.
