Kathryn Cherry
American (1870-1931)
Born in Quincy, Illinois in 1870, impressionist painter and educator Kathryn Cherry studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts, the New York School of Art under Richard Miller and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts with Hugh Breckenridge. She was a member of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts, American Federation of Arts, Chicago Galleries Association, North Shore Art Association and National Association of Women Artists, Painters and Sculptors. Cherry exhibited at the 1904 World’s Fair, Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Corcoran Gallery, North Shore Art Association, St. Louis Art Museum, St. Louis Artist’s Guild and National Association of Women Artists. Cherry’s works are held in The Marshall Collection.
