Charles Burlingame
American (1860-1930)
Painter and illustrator Charles Burlingame was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1860. Burlingame studied privately with Edward Moran, William Lippincott and John Barnard Whittaker, and was a member of the Salmagundi Club and the Nanuet Society of Painters. He exhibited his works at the National Academy of Design from 1893-199, at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, the Boston Art Club, the Society of Independent Artists, and at the Corcoran Gallery in 1908. Burlingame was also a teacher of drawing for over 30 years.
