Felix Saturnin Brissot de Warville
French (1818-1892)
Brissot de Warville, in the style of the Barbizon School, regularly captured scenes of the French countryside and the rural peasants who lived and worked there. Paintings by Brissot de Warville can be found in museum collections throughout Europe, including London and the National Museums in France in Alger, Chartres and Strasbourg. During his lifetime, Brissot’s works were often exhibited at the Palace in Compiegne, which was the preferred summer palace of the French royalty.
