Yuri Bolotov
Russian (20th century)
Yuri Ivanovich Bolotov was born in 1957 in a small village in the Kursk Region of Russia. Bolotov studied at the Art College of Buturlenovka and at the Art College of Kursk.
In the early 1990’s Bolotov was accepted into the Artist’s Union of the USSR as well as the Artist’s Union of the Belgorod Region. Bolotov has had a number of one-man shows and has exhibited in national and regional shows sponsored by the Artist’s Unions in Belgorod and Moscow. Bolotov was recently honored with the title of Best Impressionist in Belgorod Region.
There is a rare warmth and richness in Bolotov’s paintings that speaks not only to impressionism but expressionism as well. Bolotov’s canvases are vibrant, bringing to mind many of the Russian composers of the 19th century, with a looseness to form and clarity in color.
