Eduardo Benito was born in Spain, and also lived in France and New York. He studied at the Belles Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and later studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1915. While in Paris, Benito launched his career alongside fashion designer, Paul Poiret.
Benito is best known for his many features on the cover of Vogue International publications. He began contributing cover illustrations to Vogue in the 1920’s and continued to do so for 20 years. His covers captured the elegant style and linear emphasis in fashion design at the time. He also contributed to the Gazette du Bon Ton, L’Homme Elegan and Le Gout du Jour and the deluxe catalogue La Derniere Lettre Persane. Benito exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago.
