Sara Foresman Bard

American (fl. 1928-1941)

Watercolorist Sara Foresman Bard was born in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. She received her artistic training at the Pratt Institute Art School as well as the Grand Central School of Art and The Art Institute of Chicago. Bard was active in the art community and earned membership in numerous art organizations. She exhibited extensively during the 1930s, being awarded medals and prizes at venues such as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Baltimore Watercolor Club, the National Association of Woman Artists, the New York Watercolor Club, the Springfield Art League, the Hoosier Salon, and the Studio Gild.
