Alexandre Auffray

French (1869-1942)

Alexendre Auffray was born in the Loire region of France in 1869. He studied at the Paris School of Fine Arts under Leon Bonnat, Jean Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant. In 1909 Auffray was invited to Argentina, where he was commissioned to paint several portraits of government officials and exhibited his works at the Historical Museum of Buenos Aires. His paintings have been exhibited in Salons des Artistes Francais, Salon d’Automne, the Tuileries , and the Palais des Metiers in Paris.
