Elias T. Abberley

American (1864-1953)

Born in 1864, little is known of painter Elias T. Abberley’s life and training. He established a studio in Brooklyn, New York and was a member of the American Art Union. Abberley exhibited his work at the National Academy of Design in New York and was best known for his outdoor still lifes depiciting fruit and wild animals in a naturalistic setting. A Stolen Feast is a beautiful example of his work.
